3. Butser Hill to Beacon Hill.

Buster Hill is the second highest peak along the SDW, after Ditchling Beacon.

This section starts on the fast-grassy downhill heading down to the A3 underpass, crossing into Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP). Be careful as halfway down Buster Hill there is a fence and gate to go through, and you may be going too fast to stop in time!

QECP is a handy place to refuel at the cafe and there is a water tap to the side of the visitor centre building.

Beacon Hill leading into Harting starts with a climb then leads into Harting Down, which is a fast downhill chalky section which requires some care as can be slippery when wet. You will then have to go around to the right of the stone pile with post, this takes you around the hill. The hill is not cyclable and is not part of the SDW.

Water Tap: QECP (Café and water tap)
